Today is Sunday, December 28, 2008. I found that 4147 Chinese people at home and abroad have registered to become citizens of the Interim Government. In order to broaden the impact, I'm changing this form of address into citizens of Democratic China.
This event is launched and operated by the Interim Government. It began on November 20, 2008.
Mr. Liu Guohua, who registered to become the first citizen of Democratic China, has been appointed to be the head of Division of Citizen Registration by the Interim Government. He donated 20 U.S. dollars, as a starter for the new government's future tax revenue.
From November 20 to December 29, a total of 4147 Chinese people have registered as citizens of the Interim Government. This is not a large number, and many people dare not reveal their true identity. Because once they reveal their true names, the local State Security apparatus will appear at their doors to warn, to threat or arrest them. It shows that this is a very risky act, but meanwhile it is also of great significance. Yet some who register are trouble makers.
In addition, there is a procedure to fulfill, paying one U.S. dollar per person per month, 12 dollars per year (100 yuan). It's not so much that many people can afford. Many new citizens say it is inconvenient to remit the funds and they will pay at a later time. This can be considered their heartfelt intentions.
This should be a new starting point, drawing early attention of those at home and abroad who are concerned with Democratic China. It is easier said than done. Those who can join the ranks like Mr. Liu Guohua to register should be passed into history as people with lofty ideals.
Recently I heard that Mr. Wang Zhaojun, member of the Standing Committee of the Anhui People's Political Consultative Conference, is willing to become a taxpayer to the Interim Government. This should also be vigorously promoted. It is a real awakening of civic awareness and civic action.
Mr. President Chris Wu Fan of the Interim Government paid 120 tax dollars, really living up to the saying “money or energy, give whatever you have to help.”
A former police officer with the alias "Immortal Yang Jia" registered as a citizen of New China, and called on the military to revolt. In my eyes, this kind of conscientious and courageous policemen can be compared with Sun Liyong of Australia and Li Jinping of Beijing. However a call on the Internet still has only a little impact because very few military and police visit Dynaweb while those who do mostly side with the Chinese Communist Party.
A Tibetan compatriot registered as a citizen of the Interim Government by the alias "Homeless Yak". Li Dayong, director of the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party registered did the same either. This is a big test of one's mindset. Let one registered tell others not yet, let us all inspire each other.
Jennifer Zeng Zheng, female writer, Falun Gong practitioner, author of "Still Waters Run Deep", registered and accepted the new citizenship.
Mr. Yuan Hongbing, Parliament Speaker of the Interim Government, made so moving an acceptance speech:
"… the Chinese people are not only political slaves of tyranny, but also conquered people without country in terms of political spirit and culture. We in our own motherland can not think freely, express freely, and believe freely, only because China no longer belongs to the Chinese people.
To register in the China Interim Government as citizens of Free China is a milestone in the cause of the Chinese people restoring their country. Although the country is still controlled by an imported tyranny with the power of blood and iron, but in the area of volition, the cause to rebuild the motherland has taken a firm and courageous step.... The dawn has finally colored the dark skyline with red."
Deputy Speaker Mr. Tang Boqiao also delivered a speech. There were no roads in the world to begin with, but roads appeared when more people started walking. The Interim Government will not be an empty frame, with the participation of registered citizens, its impact will grow. CIG's mission is to achieve democracy and protect human rights. Historically there have been many interim governments, Haiti’s interim government, the Tibetan government in exile, Charles de Gaulle’s Free French movement and others. In the history of mankind, numerous weak transient governments ultimately overcame and replaced corrupt and brutal regimes. Similarly, the China Interim Government will eventually be recognized by the Chinese people and will replace the illegal regime in this battle between evil and justice.
A just cause enjoys abundant support, while an unjust cause finds little!
Let more and more awakened people overcome fear and become democratic China's new citizens!
Besides crying out for this virtuous act, I do not yet have the courage to register as a new citizen of democratic China.
I participated in "Disseminating the Nine Commentaries" and the "Three Quits". Qi Qinhong was the 10 millionth to do so. I used my real name to withdraw from the Communist Youth League with Li Xiaolong of Nanning and Mr. Yang Zaixin of Hepu as witnesses. To this end I also wrote a poem: "The Brave People" to congratulate the warriors who joined the "three quits". When Mr. Gao Zhisheng launched the rights protection relay hunger strike, I also participated. As a result, my house was raided for the first time. For this reason "Free China" website awarded me the "Medal of the Brave", "Medal of Justice" and "Purple Heart". I have not signed the recent "Charter 08" citizen movement, though I am actively involved in its promotion and wrote a long poem "Charter 08 Storm." As of today more than 6800 people have signed. They can be considered warriors. The number is also relatively small. You know why? The root cause: strong suppression by the CCP.
To date 4147 Chinese people have registered as new citizens of democratic China, and I believe a much bigger number will follow. Chinese people have been scared from infant to adult then to elderly and dead by the CCP. Such fear can only disappear through the establishment of a democratic China.
Again, cheers to the 4147 citizens of Democratic China!
